About Channing

“It’s country ’cause I’m from the country. It’s the blues ’cause I got ’em.”

Channing Wilson grew up in LaFayette, Georgia, writing songs as a teenager and playing local bars. He sold his fishing boat and most of his guitars to pay for trips to Nashville, landed a publishing deal, and ended up writing with his hero Guy Clark. His debut, Dead Man, was produced by Dave Cobb. He’s shared stages with Steve Earle and Billy Joe Shaver, and he was a finalist on CBS’s The Road.

Songs he co-wrote have been recorded by Luke Combs, Zac Brown Band, Riley Green, Travis Tritt, Cody Jinks, Jake Owen, The Oak Ridge Boys and Brent Cobb.
